Cross-platform app development

One codebase for Android and iOS, built with React and Capacitor — lower cost, faster updates and the same features on both platforms.

How it works

The app's screens are built once in React. Capacitor packages them as genuine Android and iOS apps and gives them access to native features — push notifications, the camera, files, location and secure storage. Users download the app from Google Play or the App Store like any other app.

When it is the right choice

Cross-platform works very well for business apps: ordering and booking, customer and vendor portals, field-service and inspection tools, loyalty and membership apps, and content apps. These make up most of the apps businesses need.

When it is not

Apps built around 3D graphics, augmented reality or heavy real-time video processing usually need a fully native build. If your app is one of these, we will say so during scoping.

Bonus: a web version

Because the screens are built with web technology, the same app can often be offered in the browser too — useful for admin staff on computers or customers who will not install an app.

Questions we often hear

Will users be able to tell it is cross-platform?

Not when it is done well. The app installs from the stores, works with native features and is designed to feel natural on each platform.

Is a cross-platform app slower than a native app?

For business apps the difference is not noticeable. For 3D games or heavy video processing, native is the better choice, and we will tell you if that applies.

Can you add a native feature later?

Yes. Capacitor lets us add native plugins or write custom native code for a specific feature when it is needed.
