vCard

A digital business card and QR code platform: people create a card, share it by link or QR code, and anyone can save the contact in one tap.

Web app · PHP · REST API · Android & iOS ready

The idea

A business card should always be up to date, work on any phone and never get lost. vCard lets anyone create a digital business card in a few minutes, share it with a link or a QR code, and let people save the contact to their phone in one tap — with no app needed to open it.

What customers can do

  • Create business cards with a photo, cover image, contact buttons, social profiles and up to 12 custom links, in three templates and their own colours, with a live preview while they type.
  • Share each card by link, WhatsApp or a printable QR code. Visitors tap Save contact to add the card to their iPhone or Android contacts.
  • Make QR codes for links, cards, text, email, phone, SMS, WhatsApp and Wi-Fi. Dynamic codes can be pointed somewhere else after printing and count every scan.
  • Collect leads: visitors can send their details from the card, and the owner can export them to CSV.
  • See views, saves and scans on a dashboard, together with their last three logins.

One login, two consoles

Customers and staff use the same login page. The account type decides where they land: customers get their own console, while administrators get a full admin console with role-based permissions, user and customer management, a customer login overview and an administrator activity log.

Every sign-in option, switchable from the admin

Administrators can switch each login method on or off separately for the website and for the mobile apps: email and password, mobile number and password, a one-time code by SMS through any SMS gateway or custom API, and single sign-on with Google, Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, LinkedIn and GitHub. Email addresses are confirmed with one-time codes, and an administrator can never lock themselves out.

Built API-first for the mobile apps

The website never talks to the database directly. Every screen uses the same REST API that the Android and iOS apps will use, with token sign-in for apps, a secure single sign-on hand-off to the app, and a request format that works reliably behind the hosting provider's web application firewall.

Privacy by design

  • Personal data is used only to run the service — never sold, shared with advertisers or used commercially.
  • The Privacy Policy and Data Policy are versioned, with a public change history, and users are notified in their account whenever a policy changes.
  • Customers' activity is not tracked; only their last three logins are kept, with approximate location and local time.
  • Users can download all their data, and permanently delete their account after confirming a code sent to their email.

Security and operations

Passwords, sessions and one-time codes are stored as hashes, and keys for email, sign-in providers and SMS gateways are encrypted and never shown again. The site answers only on its own domain, sends strict browser security headers and blocks every private file and folder. One-click and scheduled backups are kept outside the website folder, and a restore always makes a safety backup first.
